Hi, Friend!

Ever since I can remember, I’ve loved bread more than just about anything else. My mom used to joke that I must have been a baker in a past life. She’s probably right, but just to be safe, I decided to become one in this life too.

I first learned to bake on a family farm in Ireland in 2012, where bread wasn’t rushed or flashy, it was a daily ritual. I learned to work with my hands, to trust time and temperature, and to respect simple ingredients. When I returned home, I kept baking — reading, practicing, experimenting, failing, and learning.

I finally decided to start Portal Bread Company because I think we could all use a touch more magic in our lives. Under the Colorado Cottage Food Act, I operate Portal out my home kitchen where I live with my husband and mom in Lakewood, Colorado.

When I’m not baking, you’ll find me outside as much as possible. You may also find me doing CrossFit, practicing yoga, reading, or playing Dungeons & Dragons. I care deeply about this planet and strive to build this business in a way that reflects that by using local ingredients when possible, supporting Colorado farmers, and keeping sustainability at the heart of what I do.

Thank you for stopping by and please send me a message if you any questions.
